50th ANNIVERSARY OF MONGOLIA-PHILIPPINES DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS CELEBRATED IN MANILA

On 4 October 2023, H.E. Mr. Sosorbaram Enkhbayar, Ambassador of Mongolia to the Republic of the Philippines with residence in Singapore hosted a reception on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Republic of the Philippines in Conrad Hotel, Manila.

The reception was attended by around 100 people with H.E. Mr. Enrique A. Manalo, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines as the main guest of the event. Moreover, it included dignitaries from the Filipino side such as Marguax Salcedo, Undersecretary of Department of Budget Management, Niño Alvina, Assistant Secretary of the Department of Finance, Major General Jeffrey C Hechanova PAF, Deputy Chief of Staff for Plans and Programs, J5, officials from the Government, Ambassadors, their spouses, and other representatives of diplomatic corps in Manila, ADB, private sector, and media, as well as members of the Mongolian community in the Philippines.

In his speech, Ambassador Enkhbayar emphasized that the bilateral ties have steadily grown since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1973 with several important high-level exchanges made in recent years. The Ambassador also expressed his confidence that the friendly relations between Mongolia and the Philippines will be further strengthened, with cooperation in trade, economy, investments and people-to-people exchanges reaching new heights.

His Excellency Mr. Enrique A. Manalo, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines congratulated the guests on the 50th Anniversary of the diplomatic ties between the Philippines and Mongolia and expressed his appreciation of Ambassador Enkhbayar’s efforts to reinvigorate the bilateral cooperation. Furthermore, he noted in his speech that since both the Philippines and Mongolia have shared values of democracy and adhere to the rules-based international order, they have been actively collaborating on the international and regional arena. The Foreign Secretary of the Philippines expressed his conviction that the bilateral cooperation would be further broadened in various areas to the mutual benefit of the two nations.

The congratulatory speeches were followed by cultural performance of Mongolian artists. The Embassy of Mongolia expresses its gratitude to Mr. Tony Cojuangco, Honorary Consul of Mongolia in Manila as well as members of the Mongolian community in the Philippines for their assistance in organizing the event.
