“Agreement for Cooperation in the Implementation of the Paris Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Singapore and the Government of Mongolia”

On October 6, 2025, in Singapore, H.E Batbaatar Bat, Minister of Environment and Climate Change of Mongolia, and H.E Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment of the Republic of Singapore, signed the “Agreement for Cooperation in the Implementation of the Paris Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Singapore and the Government of Mongolia”. The agreement had previously been co-signed by H.E Uchral Nyam-Osor, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Development of Mongolia, and H.E Gan Kim Yong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry of the Republic of Singapore. The signing ceremony was attended by, from the Mongolian side: H.E. Enkhbayar Sosorbaram, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Singapore; Advisor to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change D. Odkhuu; Counsellor of the Mongolian Embassy M. Bilguundemberel; Senior Expert of the Policy Planning Department, International Cooperation, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change A. Narangarav; and from the Singaporean side: H.E. Wong Kai Jiun, Ambassador-designate of the Republic of Singapore to Mongolia, Fam Wee Wei Director (Carbon Mitigation Division) and Director, International Trade Division (Green Economy & Sustainability Ministry of Trade and Industry, Sim Wi-Min Director (Carbon Planning Division) National Environment Agency; William Liew Deputy Director (Energy and Climate Policy) Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, Abigail Ho, Deputy Director (Northeast Asia) Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Mok Yi Jun, Senior Manager, National Climate Change Secretariat, Prime Minister’s Office.

This year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Singapore, making this agreement especially significant. It is expected to play an important role in strengthening bilateral trade, economic relations, and cooperation, elevating them to a new level beyond geographical limitations.

In particular, it represents an important step forward in enhancing collaboration to combat climate change, promote sustainable development, and advance cooperation in green investment and the green economy.
