AMBASSADOR OF MONGOLIA TO SINGAPORE MEETS WITH THE PERMANENT SECRETARY OF THE MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT

H.E. Mrs. Uyanga Ganbold, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Singapore, met with Mr. Lau Peet Meng, Permanent Secretary of Singapore’s Ministry of Transport, on 13 August 2026.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on expanding bilateral cooperation in the transport sector, developing human resources in civil aviation, road, maritime and inland water transport, and providing training and internship opportunities for professionals.

Ambassador Uyanga Ganbold proposed exploring opportunities to sustainably restore direct flights between Ulaanbaatar and Singapore and to use Changi Airport as a transit hub connecting Mongolia with Australia.

The two sides also discussed transport and logistics challenges arising from Mongolia’s landlocked geographical location, potential new transit routes, and opportunities to increase tourism flows between the two countries.

Permanent Secretary Lau Peet Meng expressed Singapore’s readiness to cooperate with Mongolia in sharing expertise, strengthening professional capacity and providing relevant support in the transport sector.
