AMBASSADOR UYANGA GANBOLD MEETS SINGAPORE’S MINISTER FOR HEALTH ONG YE KUNG

H.E. Dr Uyanga Ganbold, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Singapore, met with Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Health of Singapore, on 31 August 2026 to discuss opportunities to advance bilateral cooperation in the health sector.

Ambassador Uyanga expressed Mongolia’s appreciation for Singapore’s previous support, including training provided to Mongolian nurses and healthcare professionals with the assistance of Temasek Foundation. Building on this successful experience, she proposed further cooperation in public health, communicable disease control and prevention, professional training, and institutional capacity-building.

Minister Ong briefed the Ambassador on the establishment of Singapore’s Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA) and expressed openness to exploring opportunities for professional training and the exchange of expertise. The two sides also discussed lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic and the importance of strengthening preparedness for future public health emergencies.

The meeting also touched on people-to-people ties, direct air connectivity and tourism cooperation. Ambassador Uyanga Ganbold invited Minister Mr Ong Ye Kung to visit Mongolia and experience its unique natural landscape, nomadic heritage and culture.
